INFINITT to Present Web-based PACS with Advanced 3D Visualization Software at ECR, Vienna Austria
European Congress of Radiology (ECR), Vienna, Austria - March 4- 6th, 2009 - -
INFINITT, a global leader in the development of medical imaging and information
management software headquartered in Seoul, Korea, will present Xelis, a new line of
clinical imaging tools using volume rendering and other post-processing techniques for
improved visualization, treatment planning and workflow. The solution is pending CE
approval, expected in March 2009.
INFINITT developed the Xelis line of products as fully-integrated software modules for
their web-based PACS. This advanced visualization software is designed for fast data
loading and reconstruction of large-volume data sets, while the web-based technology
enables access from any Internet-connected or wireless PC.
The name Xelis comes from 'xel' denoting image element, as in pixel (2D) and voxel (3D),
and 'IS' for information systems. Xelis-Colon is designed to improve detection of colorectal
polyps through correlation of 2D and 3D images, and to enhance radiologist productivity
with its workflow and reporting tools. The Xelis product line also includes Xelis Lung
Solution, Xelis Cardiac, Xelis Fusion, and Xelis Dental.
Xelis-Colon uses endoluminal fly-through techniques that allow the radiologist and
gastroenterologist to view the entire surface of the inside of the colon in a single, unfolded
view. Xelis-Colon software includes various review modes (2D and 3D), synchronized 2D-
3D views, automatic segmentation, stool tagging and measurement tools. These
visualization techniques, combined with workflow and reporting features, are expected to
shorten interpretation time by as much as 20-30%.
Xelis-Lung Solution improves utilization of MDCT (multi-row detector Computed
Tomography) data and offers automated nodule detection for both solid and GGO (Ground
Glass Opacity) -type nodules. It provides automatic 3D nodule volume measurements and
other key statistics useful in nodule classification. The system provides three viewing
modes: one for manual-detected nodule review followed by manual-detected nodule review
followed by auto-detected review, and one for concurrent manual and automatic detection
review.
Xelis-Cardiac's Vessel Analysis package includes one-click auto vessel tracing, MPRview,
Angio-emulation view, segmentation functions, automatic ribcage removal, C-CPR
(Compare Curved Planar Reformation), stenosis and soft plaque analysis, and automatic
calcium scoring. Xelis Cardiac solution improves utilization of Multi-slice CT data and
improves radiologists' productivity.
Xelis Fusion software allows the radiologist or technologist to fuse the data from two
different exams, whether they are from the same modality or from different modalities.
Cancer visualization and anatomic mapping is a major application for fusion technology, as
seen in the widespread acceptance of PET/CT Fusion. The PET exam pinpoints metabolic
activity and the CT exam provides an anatomical reference. When the scans are fused
together, the radiologist can view metabolic changes in the proper anatomical context.
Xelis Fusion software offers both automatic and manual registration methods, quantitative
analysis tools and rapid image navigation using only a few mouse clicks. The software
supports 3D region of interest (ROI) analysis, volume measurements, a variety of presets
and calculation of PET standard uptake values (SUV). Image data can be fused in any
combination of the modalities: PET-MR, PET-CT, MR-MR, CT-MR, CT-CT, SPECT-CT,
etc.
"This is the ideal time to launch Xelis in Europe," said Cassie Kim, Director of Marketing
for INFINITT. "Those attending the ECR are invited to come by our Booth (Expo E,
Booth#555) for a hands-on demonstration of any or all of the new Xelis products. Seeing is
believing," said Kim. If you would like to schedule a demo in advance, please contact us
through our website at www.infinitt.com.
