Waldo County General Hospital (WCGH) – Belfast, Maine

Waldo County General Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital serving the healthcare needs of Waldo County residents and visitors for more than a century.  The hospital and its 5 rural health centers service more than 64,000 outpatient visits each year.

The Imaging Department at WCGH has used INFINITT PACS solutions since 2001.  During 2Q 2008 a team of Hospital, Konica and INFINITT technicians and field engineers collaboratively upgraded the hospital’s PACS and administrative systems to the INFINITT G3 Radiology Suite, including:

• An upgrade of site hardware including servers, network switches, workstations, film printers and a film digitizer;
  
• Replacement of two Fujitsu CR units with high-end Konica CRs;
  
• The migration of 7 years of historical Patient and Order data from a legacy Swearingen RIS to Infinitt’s integrated RIS/PACS database;
  
• Implemention of HL7 interfaces for enterprise-wide message handling;
• Development and deployment of a feature-rich Mammography Management module that simplifies Patient Letter production and drives productive and accurate record keeping.
